National Trophy Report - 1st Round

The first round of the national trophy cyclo-cross series kicked of last weekend, with two representatives from JD Cycles Race Team - Edward McParland and Chris Young.
First away was Ed McParland in the Youth race, who was in good form after his previous victory at the First round of the yorkshire points cyclo-cross series. After a good start Ed found himself up there in a group of the top four riders. Battling around the dusty course, by the last lap the group had become three. And knowing his strengths on the steep bankings Ed managed to get a small gap on the other two and managed to take the win with only a few seconds gap.
Shortly after was the veteran mens race, with Chris Young also in good form after his previous win at the First round of the yorkshire points cyclo-cross series. Chris managed to fight his way through the field and get into the leading group of riders. As the race went on the group of riders got smaller and by the last lap Chris was joined by just two riders, as he turned into the final straight Chris put a big kick in and took the win to add to the earlier victory. Both Chris and Edward travel to Derby on October 11th to defend their Yellow jerseys.
